Carsington Youth Training

The Youth at Carsington are very lucky, having not only a range of boats to sail, but also such a good expanse of water. As a club we are committed to developing youth sailors and provides progressive training for Beginners, right through to Advanced Stages. Many young sailors from Carsington have gone on to become Sailing Instructors, or have professions in Sailing !!

This progression of training is provided utilising a number of options:

Summer Sailing provides a safe, fun introduction to sailing.

We also offer very popular RYA training at all levels, which is also an entry point to sailing. However the training stages is a progressive training scheme, building on each stage.

Once a child has learnt to sail they often need to improve on technique, which is where our Skills Clinics come in.

Having come this far we provide further training and coaching by introducing Seamanship Skills, Spinnaker and Race Training.

Not wishing to forget those children who just wish to sail and have fun we also operate the Saturday Club for junior members.

 

To help those suitable who may wish to take a career in sailing we also provide training for Assistant Instructors who a committed to helping the club and wish to further theirsailing by becoming an Instructor.

In order to achieve this we periodically review our youth training program, This year on year review means that we periodically introduce new aspects or ideas into the program.
