We have an active cruiser fleet of various types of boat from Drascombe to Benetteau 217 and many in between, crews are also of all ages from pre school to don`t ask.

Some of us race on Saturdays from February right up to Boxing day, others prefer gentle cruising here and away at the coast on organised trips.

A few also race away from Carsington competing in the Round The Island Race and the Royal Fowey Regatta.

We welcome all boats and levels of experience, don`t be afraid to ask for help or guidance if you feel you need help to get out onto the water.

For information or advice please contact the Fleet Captain Andrew Jones.

Latest News:
The following as an update of things happening soon and early next year.

Novice Racers:
From 13th Oct we will be racing with company. I have agreed with Richard Daldorph to accommodate some novice racers in the second afternoon race, approx 2.30 start. Lawrence Key has agreed to be Race Officer that day to get things underway. We plan to have a separate start for the novice racers who I believe will be Toppers, or Lasers.

This will obviously have an impact on Race officers for some weeks thereafter. The start seq they will follow will be 6, 3, go and their start
seq will begin e.g. 6 mins on our Go signal. They will have there own class flag which I believe is SJ on a white background.

I personally look forward to this as it will be great to include other boats in Sats Racing. R.O's take note you will need to be on the ball here, our
starts are very simple, however starting 2 fleets is also not difficult. For R.O please ask if you are unsure!!!

Race Officer Training:
I am trying to arrange a Race officer Training Day. I will finalize this date soon with Henry Wright who has kindly offered to run this
for us. Please keep checking for the training date(s). I imagine Sunday would be best for this, and anticipate it taking place Late Feb 2008.

Basic Race Rules Seminar:
This is scheduled for Mid Feb 2008 and I will confirm the date once it is confirmed. I am keen to have this early in the year to maximize attendance and give those attending an early course of information which they can make the most of for the rest of the season. The course will be aimed as the title suggest on Basic Race Rules and will enable people starting racing to feel confident and informed and not intimidated.

Boat Measuring:
I am hoping to start this early Nov. and the ideal is to have these finished and sent off for calculation before Xmas. For this to be successful I encourage your support. Boats and Sails will need to be measured. The measurements will be done by Peter Wymer, John Cunningham and myself and I would like to thank both for giving up a lot of time to achieve this.

Laying - up Supper and Prize giving:
This is a great evening and is always good fun. For those who have not been before you will have a super meal provided by The Galley Staff and meet some interesting people.
Venue CSC, Friday 30th Nov, 7.30 for 8.00, Menu is on the Cruiser Notice
Board or contact myself.

Race officer/Assistants.
We seem to be fully subscribed for the remainder of this series, which is great, many thanks for all concerned.

Please keep an eye on the notice board for Lists and more info. And
confirmed dates.
