Open Day 28th June 2008
On Saturday 28 June we held our first open day for some years. The objective was to attract visitors and give our club some additional exposure.
We were very fortunate with the weather with a fine warm day and a good breeze although a little gusty at times. Some thirty visitors attended throughout the day, many of whom actually had a sail on one or more of the various boats available.
The Open Day was supported by Purple Marine who brought along three demonstration boats and Simon Currey who demonstrated a Wetta 4.4 Trimaran.
Many thanks to club members who made a number of boats available including catamarans, cruisers, dinghy’s and keel boats.
Sailability ran a book stall and had water borne activities going on too.
There were many enquiries made about training and membership and during the day a number of these were signed up.
All in all we had a very worthwhile day and are thinking about repeating the event again next year. So if you missed it this time keep an eye open next year.
